Product Description

The AccuBlue™  High Sensitivity dsDNA Quantitation Kit offers ultra-sensitive and selective detection of purified dsDNA samples with minimal effects from common contaminants. The assay provides a linear detection range from 0.2 – 100 ng with sufficient reagents to perform 1000 assays based on a 96-well microplate format. The 1000 assay size kit includes AccuBlue™ High Sensitivity Quantitation Solution components and a set of 8 pre-diluted calf thymus dsDNA standards. The trial size kit includes one DNA standard solution with instructions for preparing a set of standards by serial dilution. AccuBlue™ High Sensitivity Quantitation Solution also is available separately (Catalog #31008) for customers who wish to use their own DNA standards. The AccuBlue™ High Sensitivity assay is superior to PicoGreen® or Quant-iT® dsDNA detection kits by having a similar detection range but with more convenience and better safety. The high sensitivity reagent is impermeable to cell membranes, whereas PicoGreen® or the high sensitivity Quant-iT® DNA-binding dye readily crosses cell membranes. Moreover, the reagent is extremely stable. AccuBlue™ can be conveniently stored at 4°C, unlike PicoGreen® or Quant-iT® reagents, which must be aliquotted for storage to avoid multiple freeze-thaw cycles. Biotium’s AccuLite 470 Mini Fluorometer includes a program for use with the AccuBlue™ High Sensitivity assay. The assay (λExEm 485/530 nm) also is compatible with microplate readers, spectrofluorometers and hand-held minifluorometers such as the Qubit® from Invitrogen.
