Product Description

BCIP (5-Bromo-4-chloro-3-indoxyl phosphate, disodium salt) is the most widely used chromogenic phosphatase substrate, which forms a dark blue (λmax 615 nm) precipitate on enzymatic hydrolysis. It is often used with the oxidant NBT (nitro blue tetrazolium chloride catalog no. 10008), which facilitates the precipitation. For your convenience, we offer a BCIP/NBT Kit (catalog no. 10003) that contains both reagents with a price lower than the combined prices of the components. Please also see our other BCIP derivatives that yield different colored precipitates.
